Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (1) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Supplement and 1968 Replacement Volume), title "Attorneys
at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
40.
(1) In Garrett County (1) the State's Attorney's salary is [four
thousand dollars ($4,000).] seven thousand dollars ($7,000).
(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for postage, office and travel-
ing expenses [is] shall be not less than six thousand dollars ($6,000).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the State's Attorney for
Garrett County in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act shall take effect with the next term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 125
(Senate Bill 459)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 154 (d)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments," subtitle "Commissioners for Uniform State Laws,"
increasing the possible maximum amount of the State's annual
appropriation to the National Conference of Commissioners on
Uniform State Laws.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 154 (d) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments," subtitle "Commissioners for Uniform
State Laws," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
154.
(d) The said Board may, out of its annual appropriation, con-
tribute to the expenses of the National Conference of Commissioners
on Uniform State Laws such sum as they may think proper, not ex-
ceeding, however, [thirteen hundred dollars ($1,300.00)] two thou-
sand six hundred dollars ($2,600.00) a year.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
