(Senate Bill 309)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (c)
of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle "Claims
and Compensation; Benefits," eliminating INCREASING the three
year limitation during which an award of compensation may be
modified.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (c) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Workmen's Compensation,"
subtitle "Claims and Compensation; Benefits," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(c) The powers and jurisdiction of the Commission over each case
shall be continuing, and it may, from time to time, make such modi-
fications or changes with respect to former findings or orders with
respect thereto as in its opinion may be justified [; provided, how-
ever, that no modification or change of any award of compensation
shall be made by the Commission unless application therefor shall
be made to the Commission within three FIVE years next following
the last payment of compensation].

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 5 (e)
and 6 of Article 43A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965
Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "Higher Educa-
tion Loan Program" to change the permissive rate of interest
allowed on loans made or guaranteed by the Maryland Higher
Education Loan Corporation.
