Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 178(3) of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance Code," subtitle
"Agents and Brokers," be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted
with amendments, to read as follows:

178.

(3) The Commissioner shall establish reasonable rules and
regulations with respect to the scope, type, conduct and grading of
such written examinations and the times and places within this State
where they shall be held; provided, that applicants shall be permitted
to take such examinations at least once in each week at the principal
office of the Commissioner, and provided further that such examina-
tions shall be offered at least once in each month at a location on the
Eastern Shore of Maryland and once each month at a location on the
Western Shore of Maryland, (other than Baltimore City), such
locations to be selected by the Commissioner; and all examinations
must be graded within thirty days following the date of the
examination.

Any person who shall have taken and failed to pass any such
examination shall not be entitled to take any further examination
until fourteen (14) days after the date of the last examination in
which he failed. [Any person shall be entitled to take not more than
three examinations for an initial fee of $5.00] The applicant shall
pay to the Commissioner a fee of ten dollars ($10.00) for each
examination.
If a person is not successful in obtaining a passing
grade after three examinations, it shall be necessary for such person
to wait a period of at least six (6) months from the last examination
before he is eligible to take another examination. If having failed to
obtain a passing grade after six examinations, a person shall be
required to wait at least one year from the date of his last examina-
tion before attempting any further examinations. [Any person
requiring more than three examinations shall pay an additional fee
of $5.00 which shall entitle him to take three more examinations.
Thereafter, a fee of $5.00 shall be paid each time said examination
shall be taken.]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1,1969.

CHAPTER 103
(Senate Bill 121)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 71A of
Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement
Volume), title "Courts," subtitle "Special Powers in Juvenile
Causes," to increase the limit of parent's liability of minors who
destroy or steal property.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
