The chief of the county fire prevention bureau and the electrical
inspector supervisor shall receive no additional compensation for their
services under this section. The other three members of the board shall
receive such compensation as shall be fixed from time to time by the
county, which compensation shall be paid from the fees collected for
licenses.
Sec. 10-5. Term of office; meetings; quorum; chairman and secretary;
rules of procedure.
The members of the board shall be appointed as of January first every
two years and shall hold office for the term of two years. The board shall
meet twice monthly and at such other times as the proper discharge of its
duties may require. The county executive shall appoint a chairman from
among the members of the board.
A majority of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction
of business. They shall elect a secretary and a treasurer from among their
own members and shall adopt rules of procedure as shall effectively carry
out the provisions of this title.
ARTICLE III—Standards, permits and inspections.
Sec. 10-6. Standards for electrical installations.
All electrical installations shall conform to the National Electrical
Code as it now exists or as it may from time to time be amended.
Sec. 10-7. Electric inspection division.
All inspections required to be made under the provisions of this title
shall be made by the electrical inspection division of the department of
permits and licenses. The electrical inspection division shall consist of an
electrical inspection supervisor, who shall be the chief of the division, and
such number of electrical inspectors as shall be necessary for the proper
performance of inspections as required by this title.
Sec. 10-8. Application permits.
Before any electrical installations, alterations or repairs shall be
made, a permit therefor shall foe applied for from the department of per-
mits and licenses, by a master general or restricted electrician, except in
the case of installations, ALTERATIONS OR REPAIRS made by the
holder of a master limited electrician license on the "premises of such
holder. No work shall be commenced by the holder of a master limited
electrician license without first having obtained an annual inspection per-
mit from the department of permits and licenses. No meter cut-in permit
CERTIFICATE or temporary cut-in permit CERTIFICATE shall be
issued to the utility company unless the application is made by the holder
of a master electrician (general or limited) license. Inspections of all
electrical installations (other than those used in the performance of "clas-
sified" government contracts or work) on any premises in the county may
be made at any time during regular working hours by the electrical inspec-
tion division of the department of permits and licenses, or its agents, and
upon finding defective or dangerous installations, the electrical inspector
shall notify the owner or occupant of the premises and the licensee by
