An Act, To amend the laws of Baltimore County relating to the
administration and supervision of the conduct of the electrical busi-
ness, to the issuance of permits for and the inspection of electrical
installations, alterations and repairs, and to the enforcement of regu-
lations for the conduct of the electrical business and for the making
of electrical installations, alterations and repairs, by repealing Title
38 of the Baltimore County Code, 1958, as amended, and sections 38-1
through 38-22 thereof, title "Electricity," by repealing sections 10-1
through 10-5 of the Baltimore County Code, 1958, title "Electricity,"
and enacting new sections to be known as sections 10-1 through 10-29
in lieu thereof.
WHEREAS, THE PRIVATE CORPORATIONS WHICH PRES-
ENTLY CONDUCT ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS IN BALTIMORE
COUNTY ARE NOT CONTRACTUALLY BOUND TO CONTINUE THE
PERFORMANCE OF INSPECTIONS AFTER THE ENACTMENT OF
THE PRESENT ACT; AND
WHEREAS, UNLESS THIS ACT IS MADE EFFECTIVE FROM
THE DATE OF ENACTMENT, BALTIMORE COUNTY MAY BE
LACKING ANY PROVISION FOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS AND
FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF ITS ELECTRICAL LAWS, FOR A
PERIOD OF 45 DAYS, TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE PUBLIC
HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; THUS NECESSITATING THE
PASSING OF THIS ACT AS AN EMERGENCY MEASURE; NOW,
THEREFORE
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF BAL-
TIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Title 38 of the Baltimore County
Code, 1958, as amended, and sections 38-1 through 38-22 thereof, title
"Electricity" be and they are hereby repealed.
Section 2. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That sections 10-1 through
10-5 of the Baltimore County Code, 1958, title "Electricity," be and they are
hereby repealed, and new sections, to be known as sections 10-1 through
10-29 under new Articles I through V are hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
said new sections to read as follows:
ARTICLE I—General supervision and regulation of electrical work
in the county.
Sec. 10-1. Definitions.
Whenever used in this title:
Board. The term "board" shall mean and refer to the Electrical
Administrative Board of Baltimore County.
