BALTIMORE COUNTY
Bill No. 2

Resolution, to employ the Michie City Publications Company to
compile and publish a Revised Code for Baltimore County, Maryland,
with annual Cumulative Supplements, as required by Section 1005 of
the Charter of Baltimore County, Maryland.

Whereas, Section 1005(a) of the Baltimore County Charter provides
that at intervals not greater than every ten years, the County Council
shall have compiled and codified a revised up-to-date Code; and

Whereas, such Code revision must be published in the year 1968 to
comply with said Charter requirements; and

Whereas, the Michie City Publications Company has offered the lowest
bid obtainable consistent with the editorial skill and proficiency and said
firm has submitted a contract to Baltimore County, Maryland for its
approval, whereby the Baltimore County Code will be revised and brought
to date, to include all the ordinances, rules, regulations and resolutions
passed by the County Council since publication of the 1958 Code, through
the 1967 legislative session and to include all laws since passed by the
Maryland General Assembly, through the 1967 General Session, which
affect the local laws of Baltimore County; and

Whereas, Section 510 of the Baltimore County Charter empowers the
County Council, by resolution, to employ qualified persons in place of the
county solicitor to serve as special legislative draftsmen or codifiers;
now, therefore,

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, That the contract submitted by
the Michie City Publications Company be and it is hereby approved and
said firm is hereby engaged to compile and publish a revised Code for
Baltimore County, as required by Charter provisions and as set forth in a
contract between said publishing firm and Baltimore County, Maryland,
a copy of which is attached to this resolution; and

Section 2. RESOLVED FURTHER, That the county executive be
and he is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of Baltimore County,
Maryland to execute and perform any and all acts and things which
may be necessary to carry out said contract, including the execution, ac-
ceptance and delivery of contract documents, and the payment of all
monies provided therein.

Section 3. RESOLVED FURTHER, That a copy of this Resolution
be forwarded to the Michie City Publications Company, Charlottesville,
Virginia.

Section 4. RESOLVED FURTHER, That this Resolution, having been
passed by the affirmative vote of five members of the County Council,
shall take effect from the date of its enactment.
