1996                                 MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

Resolution of December 9, 1968

Whereas, a Petition has been presented to the Mayor and Council
of the City of Taneytown to enlarge the corporate boundaries of the City
by the annexation of a parcel of land contiguous to and adjoining the
existing corporate boundaries of the City; and

Whereas, the Mayor and Council have caused to be made a verifica-
tion of the fact that there are no persons residing within the area to be
annexed and have further ascertained that the Petitioners are the sole
owners of the real property located in the area to be annexed:

IT IS RESOLVED, THEREFORE, by the Mayor and Council of the
City of Taneytown that the following parcel of land shall be annexed to
the City of Taneytown and be and become a part thereof:

BEGINNING at a point in the south marginal lines of Roberts Mill
Road, said point being South 65 degrees 23 minutes West, 263.00 feet
from the intersection of the south marginal line of Roberts Mill Road and
the east marginal line of Baumgardner Avenue, said point being also at
the end of the seventh or North 38 degrees East, 759.5 feet line of the
existing corporate boundary running thence with the south marginal
line of Roberts Mill Road with bearings and distances to agree with a
survey made by J. B. Ferguson and Co., Inc., dated June 16, 1959, (1)
South 65 degrees 23 minutes East, 922.08 feet to a fence post, thence
leaving said Roberts Mill Road (2) South 38 degrees 39 minutes East,
1007.03 feet to a point in the sixth or North 52 degrees West, 1.676.00
feet line of the existing corporate boundary, thence with said sixth line (3)
North 49 degrees 49 minutes West, 894.87 feet to a point at the end of the
said sixth line; thence with the seventh or North 38 degrees East, 759.5
foot line of the existing corporate boundary (4) North 38 degrees 39
minutes East, 759.50 feet to the place of beginning and containing 18.14
acres, more or less.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that from and after the effec-
tive date of this Resolution all persons who may hereafter reside in the
area to be annexed, and the property therein, shall become residents of and
property within the City of Taneytown and subject to the provisions of
the Charter of the City of Taneytown, and all amendments thereto, and
subject to the lawful ordinances thereof.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be
and become effective on the forty-sixth day following its final enactment.

INTRODUCED before the Mayor and Council of the City of Taney-
town this 22nd day of October, 1968.
