said election, and cause the same to be entered in the town records; and the
said judges shall also give to the commissioner elect a certificate in writing
of his election, which certificate shall be recorded among the records of
said town.

Section 2. And be it further enacted that the effective date of this
Act shall be the fiftieth day following the approval of the aforegoing
Resolution by the Commissioners of the Town of St. Michaels as herein-
after set forth.

Resolution of December 19, 1968

Resolution of the Commissioners of St. Michaels to amend their
Charter by repealing Section 459 of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, 1930, title "Talbot County," subtitle "St.
Michaels" and enacting in lieu thereof the new Section 459 of said
Article, title and subtitle providing for the appointment, term, re-
moval, powers, duties and salary of certain town officials.

RESOLVED, By the Commissioners of St. Michaels, Talbot County,
Maryland, that Section 459 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, 1930, title "Talbot County" subtitle "St. Michaels" being the
same, is hereby repealed and that a new Section 459 of said Article, title
and subtitle be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof providing for the
appointment, term, removal, powers, duties, salaries, and generally re-
lating to certain officers of the town to be known as Chief Code Enforce-
ment Officer, Maintenance Engineer, Deputy Maintenance Engineer,
[Deputy Maintenance Engineer,] Sanitary Engineer, Town Clerk and
Assistant Town Clerk.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the Commissioners of the St. Michaels,
Talbot County, Maryland, Section 459 of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, 1930, title "Talbot County" subtitle "St.
Michaels" be and it is hereby repealed and that a new Section 459 be and
it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof to read as follows:

459. The Commissioners of the Town of St. Michaels shall by reso-
lution after a majority vote, be empowered to appoint such persons as they
shall deem qualified and in the best interests of the Town of St. Michaels
to serve in the offices respectively as follows and to be known as "Chief
Code Enforcement Officer," "Maintenance Engineer," "Deputy Mainte-
nance Engineer," "Sanitary Engineer," "Town Clerk," and "Assistant
Town Clerk," and said officers shall serve so long as each shall respectively
carry out his or her duties properly and efficiently or until removed as
provided herein and provided further that upon resignation of such officer
or officers, they shall each serve until their successors are duly appointed
and qualified as such shall be appointed and determined by the Commis-
sioners of St. Michaels. Upon the appointment, the Commissioners can
