It was further resolved that a complete and exact copy of the resolu-
tion shall be posted at the Town Hall and that a fair summary be published
not less than four times in a newspaper of general circulation in the Town.
Said amendment shall become effective upon the fiftieth (50th) day after
date of this resolution.

Resolution of October 8, 1968
Resolution of the Commissioners of the Town of St. Michaels, to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 455A of Article 21
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, 1930, title "Talbot
County," subtitle "St. Michaels," increasing the limitation of the
Town's indebtedness to One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($150,000.00), and authorizing the Commissioners of said Town to
borrow any sum or sums not to exceed the amount aforesaid and to
evidence such borrowing by promissory note or notes or other cer-
tificates of indebtedness without the necessity of advertising them
for sale or otherwise.
Whereas, there is at the present time a debt limitation set forth within
the St. Michaels Charter (being Section 455A of Article 21, inclusive, of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, 1930) curtailing the potential
indebtedness of the Town of St. Michaels and limiting the same to seventy-
five thousand dollars ($75,000.00); and
Whereas, it is in the best interests of the Town of St. Michaels that
the limitation be increased in order that the necessary services may be
provided for the citizens of the Town as they become necessary; and now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the Town of St. Michaels,
Talbot County, Maryland that Section 455A of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930) title "Talbot County" subtitle "St.
Michaels," be repealed and re-enacted to provide for a debt limitation
increase to One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) for the
Town of St. Michaels and authorizing the Commissioners of St. Michaels
to issue any evidence of borrowing or any certificate of indebtedness which
they should deem to be in the best interest of the Town of St. Michaels.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Commissioners of St. Michael's, Talbot
County, Maryland, that new Section 455A of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, 1930, title "Talbot County," subtitle "St.
Michaels," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:
455A. The total indebtedness of the Town of St. Michaels, exclusive
of bond issues and tax anticipatory notes, shall not exceed the sum of
[Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000.00)] ONE HUNDRED FIFTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00) and the Commissioners of said
Town are authorized and empowered to borrow any sum or sums not to
