GAITHERSBURG                                      1953

Resolution No. R-6-68

Resolution amending the Charter of the Town of Gaithersburg so
as to grant to the Council power to perform any function not denied
to it by the Maryland Constitution, the Charter or applicable Mary-
land Law.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Gaithersburg, in public meeting assembled, that a new paragraph be and
it hereby is added to the Charter of the Town of Gaithersburg to follow
immediately after paragraph 20, to be numbered 20A, and to read as
follows:

"20A. The Council may exercise any power or perform any function
which is not now or hereafter denied to it by the Constitution of Maryland,
this Charter, or any applicable law passed by the General Assembly of
Maryland. The enumeration of powers and functions elsewhere in this
Article shall not be deemed to limit the power and authority granted by
this paragraph 20A."

I, Harold C. Morris, Mayor of the Town of Gaithersburg, Maryland,
do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a
Resolution passed by the Mayor and Town Council of Gaithersburg at a
public meeting assembled this 11th day of March, 1968.

Resolution No. R-7-68

Resolution amending the Charter of the Town of Gaithersburg so
as to change the name to City of Gaithersburg.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Gaithersburg, Maryland, in public meeting assembled, that Paragraph 2
of the Charter of the Town of Gaithersburg be and it hereby is amended
to read as follows:

"2. The inhabitants within the corporate limits heretofore legally
established as and for the Town of Gaithersburg are hereby continued
as a body corporate to be known as the "City of Gaithersburg," with all
of the privileges of a body corporate, by that name to sue and be sued, to
plead and be impleaded in any Court of law or equity, to have and use a
common seal and to have perpetual succession, unless the charter and the
corporate existence thereof are legally abrogated."

tion passed by the -Mayor and Town Council of Gaithersburg at a public

Resolution amending the Charter of the Town of Gaithersburg
with reference to Planning, Zoning and Subdivision Control.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Gaithersburg in public meeting assembled, that the Charter of the Town
of Gaithersburg be and it hereby is amended by adding thereto a new
