that a detailed financial statement may be examined and/or copied
by interested persons at the office of the County Commissioner. This
section shall also not apply to Garrett County and in that county the
County Commissioners shall publish annually in one newspaper of
general circulation in the county a statement of the receipts and
expenses of said county in sufficient detail to inform the general
public, with reasonable clarity, the source of such receipts and the
nature of such expenses.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 54
(House Bill 708)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51 (g) of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement
Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "County Commissioners," sub-
title "County Treasurer," to change the salary limitation of the
Deputy Treasurer of Charles County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51 (g) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1966 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supplement), title "County
Commissioners," subtitle "County Treasurer," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

51.

(g) The county treasurer of Charles County shall receive an
annual salary of $9,000.00, dating from the beginning of the term of
the county treasurer who began his term next after June 1, 1967.
The salary of the deputy treasurer shall not exceed [$7,000.00]
$8,500.00 nor be less than $5,000.00 per annum. In Charles County,
clerical assistants shall be appointed by the county treasurer of said
county.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.
