No. 32
(House Joint Resolution 52)
House Joint Resolution requesting the University of Maryland to
establish tourism promotion and service courses in its College of
Business and Public Administration.
Whereas, It is important to have qualified and skilled persons in
tourism promotion businesses and tourism service industries in
Maryland; and
Whereas, There is presently a noticeable loss of educational
courses leading to training in these areas; and
Whereas, Such a program could easily be established in the College
of Business and Public Administration of the University of Mary-
land; and
Whereas, With the establishment of such courses at the Univer-
sity the staff of the University could also be used in a tourist and
resort extension program thereby aiding persons engaged in the tour-
ist industry; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the University of Maryland be requested to estab-
lish tourism promotion and tourism service courses in its College of
Business and Public Administration or its College of Health,
Physical Education and Recreation; and be it further
