Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 481A be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title
"Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Crimes and Punishments," to
follow immediately after Section 481 thereof and to be under the new
subheading "Rifles and Shotguns," and to read as follows:

481A.

It shall be lawful for any Maryland resident to purchase a rifle or
shotgun from a federally licensed gun dealer in an adjoining state
provided the purchaser is eligible to purchase a rifle or shotgun
under the laws of such state.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 684
(House Bill 699)

AN ACT to add new Section 366A to Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Health,"
subtitle "Funeral Directors and Embalmers," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 366 thereof, and to add new Section 354(c) (14)
to said Article, title and subtitle, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 354(c)(13) thereof, to regulate and restrict contracts for
funeral or burial services made prior to death and known as pre-
need contracts, to limit REGULATE the sale of pre-need contracts
to BY licensed funeral directors and embalmers; to require that
all payments made TO LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTORS
AND EMBALMERS under a pre-need contract be held in trust or
escrow and to provide for refunds; to provide criminal and adminis-
trative penalties; and relating generally to funeral, burial, and
related services and merchandise sales and deposits and refunds
of money paid prior to death for the same.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

"Health," subtitle "Funeral Directors and Embalmers," to follow
immediately after Section 366 thereof, and that new Section 354(c)
(14) be and it is hereby added to said Article, title and subtitle, to
follow immediately after Section 354(c) (13) thereof, and all to read
as follows:

366A.

(a) No person shall directly or indirectly, through an agent
or otherwise, offer to enter into or execute a pre-need contract as
hereinafter defined, other than a funeral director and embalmer
licensed under the provisions of this subtitle (herein referred to as
seller).
