neys in Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed
and that new Section 40 (h) be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the section repealed, and to read as follows:

40.

(h) Cecil CountyIn Cecil County, (1) The State's Attorney's
salary is fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000)
TWELVE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($12,500) per annum. The State's

Attorney shall devote his full time and attention to the duties of his

office as State's Attorney and shall not engage in the private practice
of law at any time in any jurisdiction during his tenure of office.
In
addition to the compensation provided for in this section, the State's
Attorney, for the operation of his office and the performance of his
duties, shall be entitled to a reasonable expense allowance which
shall be subject to the approval of the Board of County Commis-
sioners. (2) The State's Attorney may appoint one

ATTORNEYS to serve at the pleasure of the State's
Attorney. The Assistant State's Attorney's
ATTORNEYS' salary
is five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) per annum.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the State's Attorney or
Assistant State's Attorneys in office on the effective date of this Act,
but the provisions of this Act RELATING ONLY TO THE STATE'S
ATTORNEY shall take effect at the beginning of the next term of
office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That subject to the provisions of
Section 2, this Act shall take effect July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 9
(House Bill 126)

AN ACT to add new Section 25(d-l) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic
Beverages," subtitle "Special and Temporary Licenses," to follow
immediately after Section 25(d) thereof, providing for the is-
suance of a special and temporary license for the sale of
alcoholic beverages in Cecil County and generally relating thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 25(d-l) be and it is hereby added to Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume),
title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Special and Temporary Li-
censes," to follow immediately after Section 25(d) thereof, and to
read as follows:

(d-1) (1) In Cecil County the clerk of the court, upon approval
