CHAPTER 629
(Senate Bill 783)

AN ACT to add new Section 5 (h) to Article 38 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1968 Supple-
ment), title "Fines and Forfeitures," to follow immediately after
Section 5 (g) thereof, making provision for certain contingent pay-
ments by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Mary's County
to the use of the library of the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 5 (h) be and it is hereby added to Article 38 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and
1968 Supplement), title "Fines and Forfeitures," to follow immedi-
ately after Section 5 (g) thereof and to read as follows :

5.

(h) In St. Mary's CountyIn St. Mary's County, if in any year
the said payments to the court library of one half the fine imposed
and recognizances forfeited is less than two thousand dollars
($2,000.00), the County Commissioners thereof shall pay to the clerk
of the court, for the use of the library, whatever amount may be
necessary to bring to two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) in the aggre-
gate the total amount to be paid to said library during that year under
the provisions of this section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

CHAPTER 630
(Senate Bill 791)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9 (35)
(a) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965
Replacement Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What
Shall Be Taxed and Where," to change the nature of the physical
disability for certain veterans of the armed forces which entitles
them to an exemption for their home and the property on which
it is located from assessment and taxation by the State and its
political subdivisions, and to provide for proof of such disability,
and to provide for retention of the exemption by the spouse of the
disabled veteran, under certain conditions, after the veteran's
death.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 9 (35) (a) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle
"What Shall Be Taxed and Where," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
