and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read

The Authority shall have jurisdiction and shall be empowered to
exercise and apply any or all of its powers and duties, as defined
and set forth in this Article, in, adjoining, or in the vicinity of any
of the navigable waters of the State of Maryland; and except that
the Authority shall not have any jurisdiction whatsoever within the
boundaries of Calvert, Charles, Queen Anne's, and St. Mary's
[County] counties. BOUNDARIES OF QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTS
THE AUTHORITY MAY HAVE JURISDICTION WITHIN THE
LIMITS OF CALVERT, CHARLES AND ST. MARY'S COUNTIES
ONLY AFTER CONSENT IS GRANTED FOR THIS EXERCISE
OF JURISDICTION FROM THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS AND THE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION
OF THESE RESPECTIVE COUNTIES. THE CONSENT RE-
QUIRED SHALL BE ISSUED ONLY AFTER SUFFICIENT
PUBLIC HEARINGS AND DUE PUBLIC NOTICE. THE COUN-
TY COMMISSIONERS IN WHICH CONSENT IS BEING RE-
QUESTED SHALL GIVE NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF THE
HEARINGS EITHER IN A MANNER PRESCRIBED BY THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR BY PUBLICATION ONCE IN
EACH WEEK FOR TWO SUCCESSIVE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE
HEARING IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN THE
CITY OR CITIES, COUNTY OR COUNTIES WHICH MAY BE
DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE PROPOSED REQUEST.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 236 (d)
and 237 (e) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "State Depart-
ment of Assessments and Taxation," making special provisions for
the payment of salaries of the Supervisors of Assessments, Assist-
ant Supervisor of Assessments and Assessors in Allegany, Carroll,
Frederick, Garrett and Washington Counties.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 236 (d) and 237 (e) of Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes,"
subtitle "State Department of Assessments and Taxation," be and
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
