MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                         1269

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 67 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Talbot County
(1930 Edition, being Article 21 of the Code of Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Talbot County," subtitle "County Commissioners," as
last amended by Chapter 506 of the Acts of 1957, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

67.

The County Commissioners of Talbot County shall each receive
an annual salary of two FIVE thousand dollars ($2,000.00)
($5,000.00) payable quarterly, provided that the Chairman of the
County Commissioners shall receive an annual salary of two FIVE
thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) ($5,500.00), payable
quarterly. The said County Commissioners are required to meet for
the transaction of public business in their office at Easton not less
than two days per week, and as much oftener as the proper dis-
charge of their duties may require. The Commissioners shall
employ a Clerk or Manager to maintain the office of the County
Commissioners available to the public not less than five (5) days per
week during the normal working hours and shall assign him such
duties, responsibilities and salary as they shall in their discretion
from time to time determine. The Commissioners are further author-
ized to retain or hire such fiscal or other specialists, to advise them
regularly, or from time to time individually or jointly with other
governments or agencies as they shall deem in the best interest of
the county.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED TO
EXTEND OR APPLY TO THE COMMISSIONERS OF TALBOT
COUNTY IN OFFICE ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
ACT, BUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT SHALL TAKE
EFFECT WITH THE NEXT TERM OF OFFICE.

SEC. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

(House Bill 1467)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1(b) of
Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Workmen's Compensation," subtitle "Workmen's
Compensation Commission," to provide for the appointment of an
additional associate commissioner to the Workmen's Compensa-
tion Commission.
