In case of refusal he shall return one of the triplicates so endorsed
to the proposed incorporators. In case of approval, the triplicates
shall be returned to the proposed incorporators. One copy shall then
be filed for record in the office of the clerk of the circuit court in
the county in which the bank is to be located, or in the office of the
clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore City, when to be located
in said city, and one copy shall be filed with the Commissioner, who
shall issue his certificate therefor, and one copy shall be filed with
the State Tax Commission. The corporation so formed shall have
no legal existence until all copies of the articles of association have
been filed for record as herein directed. The fee for filing such
articles of incorporation with the Commissioner shall be [twenty
dollars ($20.00), and] five hundred dollars ($500.00), for filing
amendments to the articles of incorporation [ten dollars ($10.00)]
twenty dollars ($20.00) and new branch applications fifty dollars
($50.00) ; all such fees to be collected by the Commissioner.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1969.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 24 of
Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement
Volume), title "Banks and Trust Companies," subtitle "Bank Com-
missioner," to increase the minimum charge for examination of a
banking institution.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 24 of Article 11 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume), title "Banks and Trust Companies,"
subtitle "Bank Commissioner," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
24.
The examination of banking institutions by the Bank Commis-
sioner shall be paid for by such institutions at the following rate for
each examination: A charge of [fifty dollars ($50.00)] two hundred
fifty dollars ($250.00) for each examination shall be made in all
cases, to which shall be added, after first deducting the sum of fifty
thousand dollars ($50,000.00) from the total assets of the institution
so examined, four cents (4¢) per thousand of such remaining total
assets the institution examined may have. Where a per diem fee is
charged for a branch office, as herein provided, the assets of such
branch office shall be excluded from the total assets of the institution
in computing the charges for each examination. When it becomes
necessary for the Bank Commissioner to extend his examination
beyond the principal office or building, he shall be paid in addition
therefor in each case a per diem fee of not more than twenty-five
dollars ($25.00) for each of the examining personnel so engaged.
