Convenient place in Somerset County, Nevertheless the sd Howell the Said Sum of One thousand pounds of tobacco to the sd John hath not paid but hath hitherto refused to the damage of the sd Jno of 1600 Pounds of tobacco, & thereof he brings his Sute. // Dent pr Quer. Plegs &ca. Jno Doe Rich Roe Maryland Ss // This Bill bindeth me Howell ffrancis of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Planter, me my Heirs Extors & Admrs to pay or Cause to be paid to John Emmett of the Same his Heirs Extors Admrs or Certain Attorney in the full & just quantity of one thousand pounds of good sound Mertable tobacco & Caske to contain the Same to be paid at or upon the tenth day of November next ensueing the date hereof in Some Convenient place in Somerset County, it being for a Valuable Consideration in hand paid as Witness my hand & Seal this first day of June Anno Dom 1692. Plt Somerset County Ss: Edward Day Dft} Edward Day late of this County was ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Sumoned to answer unto Elizabeth Baker of St.Maries County of a plea that he render unto her the Sum of two hundred and Eighty Pounds of tobaco & Caske which to her he oweth & unjustly deteineth &ca. And where upon the Said Elizabeth by Peter Dent her Attorney Complaineth that whereas the Said Edward ye 9th day of October in ye year of our Lord 1691 within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his Certain Bill Obligatory which the sd Eliz with the Seal of ye Said Edward Signed bringeth here into Court ye date whereof is the day & year afd, acknowledged him Self to be indebted to the Said Elizabeth in the sd Sum of 280 Pounds of tobacco to be paid to the said Elizabeth Convenient in Somerset County at or upon the tenth day of October next ensueing the date of the Said Bill, Nevertheless the Said Edward the Said Sum of 280 pounds of tobacco to the sd Eliz. hath not paid to ye damage of the Said Eliz of 800 Pounds of tobacco, & thereof he brings this Sute &ca. Dent pr Quer Plegs &ca {Jno Doe Rich Roe} And the Dfendt pr Sam Worthington his Attorney Comes & Saith yt the Bill he is Sued for he doth acknowledge to be his Act & Deed
