Rowland p^r Sam Worthington his Attorney Complaineth that whereas y^e said

William on the Second day of June in the year of o^r Lord 1694 at Monokin within

the Jurisdiction of this Court became indebted unto the sd Rowland Jackson

in the just Sum of four hundred & four pounds of tobacco it being for Several

goods & Merchandizes Sold & delivered to him the sd William & the sd William

[became] indebted in manner as afsd did upon himself assume & faithfully p^rmise

that the Sd Sum of tobacco he would well & truely Content & pay Neverthless

the Said William to the Said Rowland the Sd Sum of tobacco hath not paid but

the Same to doe hath refused to the great damage of the sd Rowland of eight

hundred pounds of tobacco & thereunto he brings this Sute &ca.

Indian Corn which from her he detaineth &ca. - - -And whereupon the sd Elizabeth

by Rob^t Pirrie her Attorney Complaineth that whereas the sd Edm^d y^e 5^th day of March

in the year of o^r Lord 1693/4 at Snow hill within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his

Bills Obligatory which the sd Eliz with the Seal of the sd Edm^d Signed bringeth here

into Court the date of the aforesd Bills are y^e day & year afd, acknowledged himself

to be indebted unto the sd John Tarr in his life time in y^e fsd quantity of 535

pounds of tobacco, to which paym^t the sd Edm^d bound himself firmly by y^e

Bills & by one other Bill did acknowledge himself to be indebted unto the Said

[John] Tarr in his lifetime in the quantity of nine bushels of Indian Corn
