And the Said William to the Said John in manner afd being indebted did assume on him Selfe, and to the sd John faithfully promise that he the Said William the Said Sum of fifty pounds Sterling to the Said John, when requested would well & truely Content & pay - - - Nevertheless the Said William his promise afd not regarding but minding & fraudulently intending the Said John in this behalf to deceive & defraud, the Said Sum of fifty pounds Sterling to the Said John hath not paid, to the damage of the Said John of One hundred pounds Sterling and thereof he brings his Sute Dent pr quer Plegs — John Doe Rich Roe } Wm Clark: Dr / May ye 10th 1692, lb s d To Soe much money yw recd in Catle & Tobacco. 50 = 00 = 00 = John Stockly The abovesd accot was this day proved in open Court by the Oath of John Stockly, that he had recd no part of Satisfaction for the Same //
The forsd Declaracon being read, the accot proved, and ye original Writt agt sd Clarke returned N.E. Inventus. The Plt humbly Craved and Attachmt might be awarded agt the Dfts goods &ca which by this Court was granted, giving Security according to Law. Whereupon Came the said John Shockly with his Securities mr Matt Scarbrough & mr John Henry. and the sd Stockly & his — Securities did in open Court confess themselves to be indebted unto the sd William Clarke (viz) the sd Stockly in One hundred pounds Sterl & his Securities in fifty pounds a piece like money to be responsible to ye sd Clarke according to Act of Assembly in ye like Cases provided on Attachments &a.

And yr Petioner desireous that he may have the Priveledge of Some of the best of his land, and yr Petionr humbly desires your Worps Orders to turn ye Road for yr Petioner hath cleard a new Road which is very well approved of by the Overseer of the high wayes & the rest of yr Petioners Neighbours yr Petioner desires yr Worps to grant him the priveledge of Stopping of the other way that he may fence in the Same, and yr Petioner as in duty bound shall ever pray.
