Jacob: Hill Dfend^t }  Jacob Hill was attached to answer

                                           upon the Case &ca.

And whereupon the sd ffra p^r himself Complaineth that whereas the

Sd Jacob in y^e year of o^r Lord 1688: at Pocomoke, within y^e Jurisdiction

of this Court was indebted to the sd ffrancis in the Sum of five

hundred pounds 64½ lib of tobacco p^r p^rticular acco^t thereof here in

Court to be produced may appear, and the said Jacob to the

sd ffrancis in manner afd being indebted, did assume upon

himself & to the Said ffrancis faithfully promise that he the

Said Jacob the sd Sum of 564½ pounds of tobacco would well

& truely Content & pay, Nevertheless the sd Jacob his promise and

assumption afd not regarding but minding & fraudulently intending

him the sd ffra in this behalf to deceive & defraud y^e sd Sum of 564½

pounds of tobacco & thereof he brings his Sute &ca.

Edward: Gold. Dft }   Edward Gold was attached to answer

Trespass upon the Case &ca And whereupon the Said ffra p^r himself

Complaineth that whereas the Said Edward in the year of our Lord

1688 at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court was indebted

to the Said ffrancis in the Sum of three hundred thirty three &a ½

pound of tobacco as p^r a p^rticular acco^t thereof in Court to be produced

may app and the sd Edward to the sd ffrancis in manner afd being

indebted, did assume upon him Self and to the said ffra faithfully

promise that he the sd Edward the Said Sum of three hundred

thirty three & a half pounds of tobacco would well & truely content

& pay Nevertheless the sd Edward his promise & assumption aforesaid

not regarding but minding & fraudulently intending him y^e
