Provided in the case of registration plates (if only one has been
lost, mutilated or has become illegible) the remaining registration
plate shall be returned to the Department when the substitute set
of registration plates has been received.]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(Senate Bill 306)
AN ACT to add a new subsection (g) to Section 1 (66) of Chapter
780 of the Laws of Maryland, 1959, (being also Section 59-71,
title "Park and Planning Commission," subtitle "Local planning
boards," Code of Public Local Laws, Prince George's County, 1963
Edition, and Section 70-77, title "Maryland-National Capital Park
and Planning Commission," subtitle "Local planning boards for
each county," Montgomery County Code, 1965 Edition), as the
same was last amended by Chapter 814 of the Laws of Maryland,
1961, to authorize compensation of local planning board members
in the amount of Twenty-four Hundred Dollars per annum.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 (66) of Chapter 780 of the Laws of Maryland, 1959,
as amended, be, and is hereby, amended by adding thereto a new
subsection (g) to read as follows:
1 (66).
(g) Compensation of local planning board members. Notwith-
standing other provisions of this Act, funds may be included in
the Commission's annual budget and appropriated by the respective
county governing bodies to provide an annual salary of Twenty-four
Hundred Dollars for each planning board member, other than a full-
time member, as compensation for his services as a planning board
member.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1968.
