355F.

The costs incurred in the enforcement of this subtitle shall be
assessed and collected in the same manner as in criminal cases, and
all fines collected by virtue of this subtitle shall be turned over
to
the magistrate collecting them, in the same manner and for the same
purposes as criminal and misdemeanor fines are disposed of by law.

355G.

Nothing in this subtitle applies to or shall be construed to affect
a liquefied petroleum gas container having a total capacity of five
gallons or less.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 534
(Senate Bill 288)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 39 (c) and 39 (d) of Article 66˝ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1967
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—
Registration—Titling"; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments
Sections 32 (a), 32 (b), 34 (a), 35 (a), 36 (b) and 39 (f) of the
said Article and subtitle; and to add new Sections 32 (b-2), 34 (c)
and 39 (c) thereto; to follow respectively after Sections 32 (b-1),
34 (b) and 39 (b), generally amending the laws of this State con-
cerning the manufacture, issue and use of motor vehicle registra-
tion plates; providing for the time and manner in which they shall
be issued, used, and replaced, and relating generally to motor
vehicle registration plates and validation tabs in this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 39 (c) and 39 (d) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement),
title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Administration—Registration—
Titling," be and they are hereby repealed; that Sections 32 (a),
32 (b), 34 (a), 35 (a), 36 (b) and 39 (f) of said Article and subtitle,
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments;
and that new Sections 32 (b-2), 34 (c) and 39 (c) be and they are
hereby added to said Article and subtitle, to follow respectively after
Sections 32 (b-1), 34 (b) and 39 (b), and all to read as follows:

32.

(a) As used in Section 35 (a), Section 36 (b) and Section 39 (f),
"validation tab" means a device to be affixed to the registration plate
PLATES to evidence payment of the annual registration fee.

[(a)] (b) The Department upon registering a motor vehicle or
trailer
shall issue to the owner one registration plate [for a motor-
cycle, trailer, or semi-trailer and two registration plates for every
other motor vehicle.] for every such motor vehicle or trailer.
