AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections SEC-
TION 128 (a) and (b) of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title "Courts," subtitle
"Municipal Court of Baltimore City," in order to increase certain
court costs in the criminal division and in the traffic division of
the Municipal Court of Baltimore City.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections SECTION 128 (a) and (b) of Article 26 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume), title "Courts,"
subtitle "Municipal Court of Baltimore City," be and they are IT IS
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
128.
(a) Criminal division.—The court costs in the criminal division
of said court shall be five dollars ($5.00) [four dollars ($4.00)] in
each case in which costs are imposed. Fines, penalties and forfeitures
imposed in said division shall be paid to the mayor and city council
of Baltimore.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 32 and
33 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Re-
placement Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle
Traffic division.—The schedule of costs in the traffic division
for cases in which costs are imposed shall be as follows:
Three dollars ($3.00) [Two dollars ($2.00)] in those cases in
which appearance before the court is required and a plea of guilty
is entered.
Three dollars ($3.00) [Two dollars ($2.00)] in cases tried before
the court on a plea of not guilty. All fines, penalties, and forfeitures
in cases involving violations of the motor vehicle laws of this State
shall be paid to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. Fines, penalties,
and forfeitures in cases involving violations of the traffic ordinances
of the mayor and city council of Baltimore shall be paid to the mayor
and city council of Baltimore.
Two dollars ($2.00) [One dollar ($1.00)] in those cases in which
a guilty plea may be, and is, entered without appearance before the
court.
