CHAPTER 506
(Senate Bill 104)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 354(a)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments," subtitle "Southern Interstate Nuclear Compact,"
correcting in the laws of the State of Maryland and listing the
states which are members of the Southern Interstate Nuclear
Compact.
Whereas, since the enactment in 1963 of the Southern Interstate
Nuclear Compact, the listing of states which are members of that
compact has become inaccurate by reason of the fact that the state
of Missouri has subsequently joined the compact; and
Whereas, it is desirable to correct the Maryland listing of these
states in order to include the state of Missouri; now, therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 354 (a) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments," subtitle "Southern Interstate Nuclear
Compact," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
354.
(a) Any or all of the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware,
Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Mis-
souri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas,
Virginia, and West Virginia shall be eligible to become party to this
compact.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
