(a-1) Judges of Court of Special Appeals. The salary of the

Chief Judge of the Court of Special Appeals is [twenty eight thou-
sand dollars ($28,000)]
thirty-three thousand five hundred dollars
($33,500)
per annum; the salary of each of the associate judges
of the Courts of Special Appeals is
[twenty seven thousand five
hundred ($27,500)] thirty-two thousand five hundred dollars ($32,

500) per annum. After July 1, 1967, no supplementation of the

salaries of any of such judges shall be allowed.

(B) UNTIL JUNE 30, 1969, THE SALARY OF THE CHIEF
JUDGE OF THE COURT OF SPECIAL APPEALS IS TWENTY-
EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($28,000) PER ANNUM, AND
THE SALARY OF EACH OF THE ASSOCIATE JUDGES OF THE
COURT OF SPECIAL APPEALS IS TWENTY-SEVEN THOU-
SAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($27,500) PER ANNUM. AF-
TER JULY 1, 1967, NO SUPPLEMENTATION SHALL BE AL-
LOWED OF THE SALARIES OF ANY OF SUCH JUDGES, FROM
AND AFTER JULY 1, 1969, THE SALARY OF THE CHIEF
JUDGE OF THE COURT OF SPECIAL APPEALS IS THIRTY-
THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($33,500) PER
ANNUM, AND THE SALARY OF EACH OF THE ASSOCIATE
JUDGES OF THE COURT OF SPECIAL APPEALS IS THIRTY-
TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($32,500) PER
ANNUM.

(b) Circuit Judges. The salary paid as compensation from the

State to [, or allowed, for] each of the judges of the several courts

of the eight judicial circuits as of July 1, 1968 is [twenty thousand

dollars ($20,000)] thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) per annum,

and on and after July 1, 1968, the maximum aggregate paid to or

allowed as compensation from the State and all political subdivisions

of the State to each of the judges of the eight judicial circuits

is limited to thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) per annum. The effec-

tive date of July 1, 1968, however is contingent upon the adoption

of a new Constitution by the people of Maryland on May 14, 1968.
If the proposed new Constitution is not adopted by the people this

subsection shall become effective January 1, 1969, contingent upon
the passage of a proposed amendment to Article IV, Section 31A

of the present Constitution repealing the authority of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore to supplement judicial
salaries and
pensions.

(C) UNTIL JUNE 30, 1969, THE SALARY PAID TO OR AL-
LOWED FOR EACH OF THE JUDGES OF THE SEVERAL
COURTS OF THE EIGHT JUDICIAL CIRCUITS IS TWENTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) PER ANNUM. FROM AND AF-
TER JULY 1, 1969, THE SALARY PAID AS COMPENSATION
FROM THE STATE TO EACH OF THE JUDGES OF THE SEV-
ERAL COURTS OF THE EIGHT JUDICIAL CIRCUITS IS
THIRTY THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($30,500) PER
ANNUM; AND ON AND AFTER JUNE 1, 1968, THE MAXIMUM
AGGREGATE PAID TO OR ALLOWED AS COMPENSATION
FROM THE STATE AND ALL POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS OF
THE STATE TO EACH OF THE EIGHT JUDICIAL CIRCUITS
SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE SUM OF THIRTY THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($30,500) PER ANNUM.
