ARY OF JUDGES," AS THIS SECTION WAS LAST AMENDED
BY CHAPTER 269 OF THE ACTS OF 1967; AND TO RE-
PEAL ALL OTHER ACTS OR PARTS OF ACTS WHETHER
PUBLIC GENERAL OR PUBLIC LOCAL INCONSISTENT
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT TO THE EXTENT
OF ANY INCONSISTENCY.
It is the intention of the General Assembly that the circuit court
judges throughout the State shall be paid uniform salaries and that
the judicial work-load shall be distributed as uniformly as possible
by exercise of the authority of assignment by the Chief Judge of the
Court of Appeals.
It is further the intention of the General Assembly that the Court
of Appeals shall by rule establish a uniform procedure for the schedul-
ing of judicial vacations and leaves of absence throughout the State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 47 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1966 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Courts,"
subtitle "Salaries and Judges" be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments; that Sections 49 and 50 of said Article
26, subtitle "Pensions of Judges and Their Widows," be and they
THAT SUBSECTIONS (A), (A-1), (B), (C) AND (D) OF SEC-
TION 47 AND SECTION 49 OF ARTICLE 26 OF THE ANNO-
TATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1966 REPLACEMENT VOLUME
AND 1967 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE "COURTS," SUBTITLES "SAL-
ARIES OF JUDGES" AND "PENSIONS OF JUDGES AND THEIR
WIDOWS," BE AND THEY ARE HEREBY REPEALED AND
RE-ENACTED, WITH AMENDMENTS, TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
47. Salaries of Judges.
(a) Judges of Court of Appeals. The salary of the Chief Judge
of the Court of Appeals is [thirty-three thousand dollars ($33,000)]
thirty-six thousand dollars ($36,000) per annum; the salary of each
of the associate judges of the Court of Appeals is [thirty-two
thousand five hundred dollars ($32,500)] thirty-five thousand dol-
lars ($35,000) per annum. After July 1, 1967, no supplementation
of the salaries of any of such judges shall be allowed.
(A) UNTIL JUNE 30, 1969, THE SALARY OF THE CHIEF
JUDGE OF THE COURT OF APPEALS IS THIRTY-THREE THOU-
SAND DOLLARS ($33,000) PER ANNUM; THE SALARY OF
EACH OF THE ASSOCIATE JUDGES OF THE COURT OF AP-
PEALS IS THIRTY-TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($32,500) PER ANNUM. AFTER JULY 1, 1967, NO SUPPLE-
MENTATION SHALL BE ALLOWED OF THE SALARIES OF ANY
OF SUCH JUDGES. FROM AND AFTER JULY 1, 1969, THE
SALARY OF THE CHIEF JUDGE OF THE COURT OF APPEALS
IS THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($36,000) PER ANNUM,
AND THE SALARY OF EACH OF THE ASSOCIATE JUDGES
OF THE COURT OF APPEALS IS THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($35,000).

Sections 48, 48 A, and 50 A of this Article and subtitle, be and they
