five ($35.00) dollars for the first two sets of registration plates
issued to each finance company and [five ($5.00)] twenty ($20.00)
SEVEN ($7.00) dollars for each additional [set] three (3) sets SET
of registration plates, said plates and tags to be used by them only
on vehicles repossessed and under no circumstances to be used on
vehicles owned or operated by said companies in connection with
their business.

[(q) Certain corporations, railroads, public utilities and con-

tract carriers.—Domestic corporations, the shares of which are
subject to taxation under the law, and railroads, public utilities
and contract carriers, the operating property of which is assessed
by the State Tax Commission, shall pay for the registration plates
and certificates of registration issued by the Department of Motor
Vehicles for the designated classes of vehicles set forth hereinabove

in this section, the amount of registration fees prescribed herein-

above in this section less the portion of such registration fees which
the Department would otherwise be required to pay to any county or
Baltimore City; and the Department shall not be required to pay

any portion of the amount of registration fees fixed under the pro-

visions of this subsection to any county or Baltimore City.]

(Q) CERTAIN CORPORATIONS, RAILROADS, PUBLIC UTIL-
ITIES AND CONTRACT CARRIERS.—DOMESTIC CORPORA-
TIONS, THE SHARES OF WHICH ARE SUBJECT TO TAX-
ATION UNDER THE LAW, AND RAILROADS, PUBLIC
UTILITIES AND CONTRACT CARRIERS, THE OPERATING
PROPERTY OF WHICH IS ASSESSED BY THE STATE TAX
COMMISSION, SHALL PAY FOR THE REGISTRATION PLATES
AND CERTIFICATES OF REGISTRATION ISSUED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES FOR THE DESIG-
NATED CLASSES OF VEHICLES SET FORTH HEREINABOVE
IN THIS SECTION, THE AMOUNT OF REGISTRATION FEES
PRESCRIBED HEREINABOVE IN THIS SECTION LESS
CREDIT TO BE APPLIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOL-
LOWING SCHEDULE:
