to change the procedure for improvement of private roads in
Harford County when requested by petition to the Harford County
Commissioners and to correct the language of this section.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 467(d) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
County (1965 Edition, being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Harford County," subtitle "Roads and
Public Works," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
467.
(d) Before the powers granted by this section to the County
Commissioners shall be exercised, there shall first be presented to
them a petition by a majority of the property owners as hereinbefore
provided, requesting improvements, if monies are available; public
hearing upon the petition after ten days' notice in a newspaper regu-
larly published in Harford County; approval of the petition by the
County Commissioners; and the passage of an appropriate ordinance,
pursuant to the authority of this section, setting forth the improve-
ments being proposed, the property owners directly affected, and all
material terms of the annual benefit assessments levied to pay the
cost of said improvements, or any reasonable portion thereof, as
determined by the County Commissioners [; provided that no as-
sessment shall exceed ten per centum (10%) of the assessed value
of the property after giving effect to benefits accruing thereto from
the improvement for which assessed].
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 1257)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 258 and 259 of Article 18 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen
Anne's County," subtitle "Justices of the Peace and Trial Magis-
trates," as said sections were last amended by Chapter 654 of the
Acts of 1953, and to add new Sections 258 and 259 to stand in lieu
of the sections so repealed to revise the fees and costs chargeable
by the Justices of the Peace and Trial Magistrate for the use of
Queen Anne's County.

That Sections 258 and 259 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County,"
subtitle "Justices of the Peace and Trial Magistrates," as said sec-
tions were last amended by Chapter 654 of the Acts of 1953, be, and
they are hereby repealed and new Sections 258 and 259 be and they
are hereby enacted to stand in the place of the Sections so repealed
and to read as follows:
