CHAPTER 377
(House Bill 1143)

AN ACT to repeal ADD NEW Section 37(c) of 20(J-2) TO
ARTICLE 2B OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARY-
LAND (1957 EDITION AND 1967 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE
"ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES," SUBTITLE "BEER, WINE AND
LIQUOR LICENSES," TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER
SECTION 20(J-l) THEREOF; AND TO REPEAL AND
REENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS, SECTION 25(C) OF
SAID ARTICLE 2B, TITLE "ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES,"
SUBTITLE "SPECIAL AND TEMPORARY LICENSES";
AND REPEAL PRESENT SECTION 37(C) OF ARTICLE
2B AND ADD NEW SECTION 37(C) TO Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, (1967 Supplement), title "Alco-
holic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses and License Pro-

visions," and to enact new Section 37(c) in lieu thereof, to stand

in the place of the section so repealed, prohibiting the sale of setups
by "bottle clubs" in Montgomery County, defining "bottle clubs,"
TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES ON THE PREMISES OF ANY COUNTRY CLUB
OR ELEEMOSYNARY ORGANIZATION IN MONTGOMERY
COUNTY AND MATTERS RELATING GENERALLY THERE-
TO; AND TO PROVIDE AS AN UNLAWFUL PRACTICE FOR
ANY SPECIFIC PUBLIC ACCOMMODATION TO POSSESS,
SELL, OR DISPENSE ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE OTHER
THAN AS SPECIFICALLY PROVIDED FOR IN ARTICLE 2B
AS AMENDED BY THIS ACT; AND TO PROHIBIT THE SELL-
ING, DISPENSING, KEEPING, OR ALLOWING TO BE CON-
SUMED OF ANY SET-UPS, ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, OR
ANY OTHER COMPONENT PARTS OF ALCOHOLIC BEVER-
AGES BY "BOTTLE CLUBS" AS THIS TERM IS HEREIN
DEFINED, IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY; AND TO REMOVE
THE PROVISION THAT CLASS C7-DAY BEER, WINE, AND
LIQUOR LICENSES BE NOT ALLOWED IN MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, and generally relating to alcoholic beverages in Mont-
gomery County.

        (c) (1) "Bottle club," as used in this section, shall mean any

club which serves drinks to its members or guests who have reserved
or purchased their own bottles of alcoholic
beverages, or any club

hours from the supplies that the patrons have previously purchased

or reserved, or any club that sells setups or others component parts

37.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37(c) of NEW SECTION 20(J-2) BE AND IT IS
HEREBY ADDED TO Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, (1967 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle
"Local Licenses and License Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed;
and that new Section 37 (c) be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the section so repealed
"BEER, WINE, AND
LIQUOR LICENSES, TO FOLLOWING IMMEDIATELY AFTER
SECTION 20(J-l), and to read as follows:
