pected to own real or leasehold property. When so filed, the debt
represented thereby shall have the force and effect of a lien of judg-
ment and may be enforced as such. [If not included in the list
as originally filed, any amount chargeable to the applicant pursuant
to subsection (c) may be added by amended certification of the
Commissioner.]

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That Section 16 of Article 36
of said Code (1967 Supplement), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle
"Commissioner of Land Patents," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

16.

The Commissioner of [the] Land Patents shall collect and remit
to the State Treasury all monies received for the issuance of pat-
ents for vacant land and the following fees:

(a)    For the filing of an application for warrant and the issu-
ance of such warrant, $20.00 plus a fee equal to the amount charged
for postage on any notices of such warrant required to be mailed by
the Commissioner.

(b)     For issuing duplicate or amended warrants, a fee of $5.00.

(c)    For examining and filing any certificate or amended certifi-
cate of a surveyor, a fee of $2.00 per page.

(d)    For filing any objection to the issuance of a patent or re-
quest for notice, a fee of 50¢.

(e)    For issuing subpoenas or summons for witnesses, a fee of
50¢ for each witness.

(f)    For filing all other papers in a proceeding to obtain a patent,
a fee of $1.00.

(g)    For preparation, issuance and recording a patent, a fee of
$3.00 per page.

(h) For certification of unpaid fees, costs, charges or purchase
price upon abandonment of any proceeding by an applicant, a fee
of $10.00.

(i) For certified copies of any records, a single charge of $1.00
if a copy is supplied, or a fee of $1.00 per page if the Commis-
sioner prepares the copy to be certified.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
