(2) The Commissioner may require interim statements of any
company doing business within this State, on such points as he may
deem necessary and proper at any time during the period between the
filing of annual statements.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 290
(House Bill 729)
AN ACT to add new Subsection (11) to Section 104 of Article 48A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume),
title "Insurance Code," subtitle "Investments of Insurers Other
Than Life Insurers," to follow immediately after Subsection (10)
thereof, authorizing insurers to invest a portion of their reserve
funds in shares or deposit accounts of savings associations under
certain conditions.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 104 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance Code," subtitle
"Investments of Insurers Other Than Life Insurers," be and it is
hereby amended to add the new Subsection (11) to follow immedi-
ately after Subsection (10) thereof and to read as follows:
104.
(11) Shares of savings and loan associations or building and
loan associations to the extent that such an investment or account
is insured by the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation
or by the Maryland Savings-Share Insurance Corporation.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 730)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 177(2)
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Insurance Code," sub-
title "Agents and Brokers," increasing the fee for taking an exam-
ination from five dollars ($5) for the first three (3) examinations
to ten dollars ($10) for each examination.
