issuance of a duplicate registration by the Department of Motor
Vehicles if the original is lost, mutilated, or illegible.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 39 (b) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Administration—Registration—Titling," be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
39.
(b) In the event any registration certificate is lost, mutilated or
becomes illegible, the owner of the vehicle for which the same was
issued, shall make immediate application for and may obtain a
duplicate of said certificate of registration [without charge] upon
payment of fees prescribed in subsection (f) of this section and
upon furnishing satisfactory information to the Department.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 20 (d)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Cumulative Supplement), title "Justices
of the Peace," subtitle "Criminal Jurisdiction," authorizing the
trial magistrates of Talbot and Caroline counties to grant pro-
bation without verdict, and matters generally related thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 20(d) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume and 1967 Cumulative Supplement),
title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Criminal Jurisdiction," be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
20.
(d) [In the case of any person charged with a violation of
Section 118(c) of Article 2B of this Code, as amended from time
to time, (possession of alcoholic beverages by minors), the] The
trial magistrates shall have the power to grant probation without
verdict and to make such orders as to probation as are authorized
in subsection (a) of this action.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
