SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate pres-
ervation of public health and safety and, having been passed by yea
and nay votes supported by three fifths of all members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

(House Bill 402)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 72 (b)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxation,"
subtitle "Tax Sales," subheading "In General" to provide that in
Calvert County a tax sale may be held on real property after
a one year delinquency.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 72(b) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Reve-
nue and Taxation," subtitle "Tax Sales," subheading "In General" be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
72.
(b) In St. Mary's [County] and Calvert Counties the collector
shall proceed to advertise and sell any real property immediately
after the taxes are delinquent for a period of one year.
Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall not be
applied to any tax sales based upon taxes due on property prior to
the effective date of the Act.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1969.
