Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 201
(House Bill 201)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 193 of
Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Queen Anne's County," subtitle "County Treas-
urer," as last amended by Chapter 305 of the Acts of 1957, to
change the date the County Treasurer of Queen Anne's County
takes office.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 193 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County," sub-
title "County Treasurer," as last amended by Chapter 305 of the
Acts of 1957, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments to read as follows:

193.

At the general election of delegates to the General Assembly
[to be held on Tuesday after the first Monday of November, eighteen
hundred and ninety-nine, and at such election every four years
thereafter,] there shall be elected a County Treasurer of Queen
Anne's County, by the qualified voters of said County, who shall
hold his office for the term of four years from the first day of
[June] July following, and until his successor is elected and quali-
fied, and who shall be subject at all times to be removed for wilful
neglect of duty or misdemeanor in office, upon conviction in a court
of law. It shall be the duty of said County Treasurer to collect all
state and County taxes levied in Queen Anne's County, or payable
to the County Commissioners of said County and to receive as such
Treasurer all money belonging to said Queen Anne's County, no
matter from what source derived; and for this purpose he shall be
clothed with all the powers possessed by the collectors of taxes by
virtue of the provisions of the Code of Public General Laws as same
may exist during his term; said Treasurer shall before entering upon
the duties of his office, execute to the State of Maryland two bonds
pursuant to the provisions of Sections 51 and 52 of Article 81 of the
Public General Laws of Maryland and any amendments thereto; the
penalty of the bond required under Section 51 of Article 81 aforesaid
shall be not less than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00).

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
