the justices of the peace and trial magistrates in and for Queen
Anne's County and directed to the Sheriff of said county or any
deputies.
Before entering upon the duties of the office, each deputy sheriff
appointed under the authority of this subsection shall give bond to
the Sheriff of said county, in the penalty of five thousand dollars
($5,000) with security, to be approved by a judge of the Circuit
Court for said county, conditioned that he shall faithfully perform
his duties and account properly for all monies and property received
by virtue of his position; the premiums of which shall be borne by
the said county, and to be filed and recorded .in the office of the clerk
of the Circuit Court of said county.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

(House Bill 200)
AN ACT to add new Section 184C to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County," sub-
title "County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Section
184B thereof, as last amended by Chapter 162 of 1957, author-
izing the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County to take
and dispose of abandoned boats in said county.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 184C be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's
County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately
after Section 184B thereof as last amended by Chapter 162 of 1957,
and to read as follows:
(a) The County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County may
take possession of and sell or otherwise dispose of any boat or ship,
apparently abandoned in the county. Prior to taking such action
they shall notify the owner if known, or if there is no known owner,
have a notice printed in one newspaper in the county for three con-
secutive weeks.
(b) Any person claiming a legal interest in any boat or ship
sold by the county under the provisions of this section may file a
claim within three years after such SALE for compensation for loss
of such interest to be paid from the proceeds of such sale less any ex-
pense of the county in taking possession, keeping and disposing of the
vessel. If the county commissioners find that such claim is legitimate,
they shall award appropriate compensation. Any person whose claim
has been rejected by the county commissioners may bring action in
the circuit court of Queen Anne's County to establish his claim.
