CHAPTER 144
(Senate Bill 377)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12 of
Article 31B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Defective Delinquents", subtitle "Institu-
tional Board of Review", to provide that the member of the Bar
needed to constitute a quorum on the Institutional Board of
Review under the laws concerning defective delinquents may be
either of the two practicing members of the Maryland Bar who
are members of the Advisory Board for Defective Delinquents.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 12 of Article 31B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume), title "Defective Delinquents", subtitle
"Institutional Board of Review", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

12.

The Institutional Board of Review shall consist of the Director,
the three Associate Directors, the Professor of the University of
Maryland School of Law who is a member of the advisory board,
[the member of the Maryland bar, who, of the two who are mem-
bers of the advisory board have served thereon the longer] either
of the members of the Maryland bar who are members of the
advisory board and a sociologist to be appointed by the Board
of Patuxent Institution from the faculty of an accredited institution
of higher education in Maryland. Four members, including either
the Professor of Law [the member of the bar, or both of them,
shall constitute a quorum.] or one of the members of the bar who
is a member of the advisory board, [or both of them] shall constitute
a quorum.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6 of
Chapter 708 of the Acts of 1965, as last amended by Chapter 723
of the Acts of 1966, extending the time in which the Maryland
Academy of Sciences shall present certain evidence to the Board
of Public Works with regard to the funding of a science center.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6 of Chapter 708 of the Acts of 1965, as last amended
by Chapter 723 of the Acts of 1966, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
