to provide for the inclusion of an additional road project in Anne
Arundel County in the State Roads Commission's official 20-year
needs study, this project being the extension of Maryland Route
170 to the Prince George's County line.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 211 H-12 be and it is hereby added to Article 89B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and
1967 Supplement), title "State Roads," subtitle "Expenditure of
Commission's Funds and Programming and Scheduling of High-
way Projects," to follow immediately after Section 211 H-11 thereof,
and to read as follows:
211 H-12.
The official "twenty-year highway needs study" of the State
Roads Commission is hereby amended to show the need for the ex-
tension of Maryland Route 170 in Anne Arundel County to the
Prince George's County line, the extension of which is hereby au-
thorized and directed to be undertaken as soon as practicable.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 667 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replacement
Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Places of
Reformation and Punishment," subheading "Department of Cor-
rection," changing the name of the Department of Correction to
Department of Correctional Services, and providing that all exist-
ing statutory references to the Department of Correction and
to any positions within the said Department shall be construed
as if the same referred to the Department of Correctional Services.

That Section 667 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1967 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-
title Places of Reformation and Punishment," subheading "Depart-
ment of Correction," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
and to read as follows:
