Resolved, That this Committee shall submit its report to the
citizens, Board of County Commissioners, and General Assembly
members not later than December 15, 1968.

House Joint Resolution requesting the County Commissioners of
Harford County to appoint a committee of interested citizens to
work with the Harford County Board of Parks and Recreation in
the preparation of a twenty-year program for the financing and
building of public swimming pools in the County.
Whereas, As a county which is rapidly growing in population,
Harford County is experiencing a shortage of recreational facilities
for its citizens, including swimming pools; and
Whereas, It is in the interest of the physical and mental health,
fitness and joy of the people of Harford County to have reasonable
access to public swimming pools; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the County
Commissioners of Harford County are requested to appoint a com-
mittee of eight interested persons to embark upon a joint study with
the Harford County Board of Parks and Recreation in order to
develop a plan for the installation of public swimming pools in a
progressive manner over the next twenty years, locating same in ap-
propriate areas of the county and recommending a means of financing
such pools; and be it further
Resolved, That the Committee is requested to submit its recom-
mendations to the members of the General Assembly elected from
Harford County by January 1, 1969; and be it further
Resolved, That copies of this Resolution are sent to the Board of
County Commissioners of Harford County and to the Board of
Parks and Recreation.
