provide books for registration of the qualified voters of the said
Special Taxing Area or District and shall appoint a registration com-
mittee of three members to sit on the fourth Monday in June, 1968,
being June 24, 1968, from the hour of 9:00 A.M. until the hour of
9:00 P.M., for the purpose of registering said voters. The said
Association shall cause to be printed ballots for said election and
shall have printed on said ballots: "Special Election to provide for
Street Lighting in Cresaptown;" and underneath said words, on
separate lines, a square or box to the right of and opposite the
words, "For Street Lights," and a square or box to the right of
and opposite the words "Against Street Lights," so that the voters
shall be able to designate by a cross mark in the proper square or
box his or her decision for or against said street lights. If a majority
of the votes cast in the said "Cresaptown Special Taxing Area or
District" shall be "For Street Lights," then shall become effective
and operative immediately the provisions of this Act; but if a ma-
jority of the votes cast shall be "Against Street Lights," then this
Act shall be of no effect and shall be null and void.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 768
(House Bill 816)

AN ACT to waive the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 504 of
the Acts of 1966, said section relating to the time by which projects
contained in the General Construction Loan of 1966 must be
placed under contract, insofar as the provisions of said section
relate to an item TWO ITEMS contained in said Act for the Depart-
ment of Maryland State Police and relating to construction and
site improvements for new UPPER MARLBORO POST AND
NEW Annapolis Barracks; and to extend for two years the period
during which the said item ITEMS may be placed under contract.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 504 of the Acts of
1966, be and they are hereby waived insofar as they impose a time
for placing under contract an item, TWO ITEMS, SECTION 5(F)
(1), IN SAID CHAPTER 504 OF THE LAWS OF 1966, MAKING
AVAILABLE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MARYLAND STATE
POLICE THE SUM OF $294,400 FOR LAND ACQUISITION, CON-
STRUCTION AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS FOR NEW UPPER
MARLBORO POST, AND Section 5(F) (2), in said Chapter 504 and
found on page 842 of the Laws of 1966, making available to the
Department of Maryland State Police the sum of $396,000 for con-
struction and site improvements for new Annapolis Barracks. There
shall be allowed an additional period of two years, beginning on the
effective date of this Act, for placing this project THESE PROJECTS
under contract. If this project THESE PROJECTS shall not have
been placed under contract within a period of two years, beginning
