CHAPTER 763
(House Bill 1195)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51(g)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Supple-
ment), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "County Treas-
urers," confirming a certain increase in salary for the County
Treasurer of Charles County and making a certain contingent
and alternative provision for the payment of office and traveling
expenses to the County Treasurer of Charles County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51(g) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1967 Supplement), title "County Commissioners," subtitle
"County Treasurers," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
51.
(g) The county treasurer of Charles County shall receive an
annual salary of $9,000.00, dating from the beginning of the term
of the County Treasurer who began his term next after June 1, 1967.
The salary of the deputy treasurer shall not exceed $7,000.00 nor
be less than $5,000.00 per annum. In Charles County, clerical as-
sistants shall be appointed by the county treasurer of said county.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That if for any reason the
County Treasurer of Charles County who began his term next after
June 1, 1967, does not receive, during that term or any portion
thereof, the increase in salary provided by Chapter 83 of the Acts
of 1967 and confirmed by this Act, he shall be paid a sum at the
rate of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) annually, dating from the
beginning of the term which began next after June 1, 1967, as
office and traveling expenses for such period as the increase in salary
is not paid.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Gaming,"
amending the laws concerning certain bingo games in Worcester
County with particular respect to the advertisement thereof fey
means of posters, handbills or bulletin boards AND TO CLARIFY
A REFERENCE THEREIN.
