which shall be a limited license and shall permit the holder thereof
to do the following: Wire and maintain sign or signs and run service
to and as far as a main switch panel only.

(e) Maintenance: After examination, there shall be issued to
those qualified, a license hereinafter to be known as a maintenance
electrician, which shall be a limited license and shall permit the
holder thereof to do the following: Said licensee while employed
exclusively by a manufacturer operating a manufacturing plant shall
be allowed, after said firm shall be certified to have sufficient elec-
trical supply installed in its plants, to maintain, repair, renew, re-
place any and all electrical wiring already installed by or under the
supervision of a Master Electrician, but in no case shall he be allowed
to extend any lines or install any electrical equipment which has not
first been installed by or under the supervision of a Master Elec-
trician.

(a) Issue of license. Before any person shall hereafter engage

in the business of Master Electrician, and/or Journeyman Electri-
cian, Oil Burner Electrician, Sign Electrician, or Maintenance Elec-

trician in Harford County, as defined in this subtitle, and before

any person now engaged in this business or any class thereof shall

continue in the business of Master Electrician, and/or Journeyman
Electrician, Oil Burner Electrician, Sign
Electrician, or Maintenance

Electrician, such person shall apply to the Board for a license, as

herein required, whereupon the applicant shall present himself before

find upon due examination that the applicant presenting himself has
a reasonable knowledge of electricity and the natural laws and func-
tions of electric wires, appliances, and devices for electric light, heat
and power purposes, and is
possessed of skill and knowledge in all
matters appertaining to the business of Master Electrician, and/or
Journeyman Electrician, Oil Burner Electrician, Sign Electrician,

or Maintenance Electrician, as defined in this subtitle, then the

Board upon payment of the fee, which shall be twenty-five dollars

($25.00 for any examination held on the first Monday of February

and August in each and every year, and fifty dollars ($50.00) for

any examination held other than on the above dates, and upon com-

plying with the provisions of Section 244 of this subtitle, shall issue

to the said person a license as Master Electrician and/or Journey

man Electrician, Oil Burner Electrician, Sign Electrician, or Main-
tenance Electrician, to practice said business for a term of one year,

and shall register such person as a duly licensed Master Electrician

and/or Journeyman Electrician, Oil Burner Electrician, Sign Elec-
trician, or Maintenance Electrician. No person who has been engaged
as a bona fide contractor in the electrical contracting business in Har-
ford County for a period of three (3) years prior to July 1, 1968, shall
be required to take the examination as provided in this section before

the issuance of such license. No license shall be granted to any per-
son under the age of twenty one (21) years, nor shall any license be
granted to any person who has not taken and subscribed an oath that

he has had at least one (1) year of actual experience as a Master

Electrician, and/or Journeyman Electrician, Oil Burner Electrician,
Sign Electrician, or
Maintenance Electrician, within the meaning
