AN ACT to repeal Sections 235, 237, 238, 240(a), 242 and 244 238,
240, 241, 242, 244, 247 AND 252 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Harford County (1965 Edition), title "Harford County," subtitle
"Electrical Examiners," and to enact new Sections 235,237,240(a),
242 and 244 238, 240, 241, 242, 244, 247 AND 252 in lieu thereof,
to stand in the place of the sections so repealed, and to add new
Section 239A to the said Code and subtitle, to follow immediately
after Section 239 thereof, to revise the local laws of Harford
County relating to licensing and regulations of electricians in the
county.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 235, 237, 238 240(a), 242 and 244 238, 240, 241, 242,
244, 247 AND 252 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Harford
County (1965 Edition), title "Harford County," subtitle "Electrical
Examiners," be and they are hereby repealed and that Sections 235,
237 240(a), 242 and 244 238, 240, 241, 242, 244, 247 AND 252 be and
they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
section so repealed, and that new Section 239A be and it is hereby
added to the said Code and subtitle, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 239 thereof, and to read as follows:
235.
(a) The Board of Electrical Examiners of Harford County shall
consist of five persons, for the purpose of examining, regulating, and
controlling, all persons who are engaged, or desire to engage in the
business of Master Electrician or other limited types of electricians
as defined in this subtitle. The Board shall be appointed by the
County Commissioners of Harford County, and when so appointed
shall consist of three Master Electricians actually working as such,
who are residents of Harford County, and whose principal place of
business is located in Harford County; an architect, who is a resident
of Harford County; and an engineer, who is a resident of Harford
County, who is a qualified graduate in either mechanical or elec-
trical engineering. The members of the Board shall be appointed for
terms of five years and any member may succeed himself in office.
When first appointed, the architect shall serve for one year, the engi-
neer for two years, and the three master electricians for terms of
three, four and five years respectively. In case of vacancies the
County Commissioners shall appoint for the remainder of the un-
expired term.
(b) The duties of the Board shall be to examine applicants for
master, journeyman, and special licenses as hereinafter defined AND
TO ADOPT SUCH REASONABLE RULES AND REGULATIONS
AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE CONDUCT OF SUCH EX-
AMINATIONS; to supervise complaints of electrical work of its
licensees; TO ADOPT REASONABLE RULES AND REGULA-
TIONS FOR THE PLACING, INSTALLING AND OPERATING
OF ELECTRICAL WIRES, APPLIANCES, APPARATUS, OR
CONSTRUCTION IN, OPEN UPON AND ABOUT BUILDINGS IN
HARFORD COUNTY; to authorize use of the Middle Department
