immediately thereupon the jury commissioner, or his assistant shall
cause all of the names selected and placed upon the list as aforesaid,
to be legibly written or typed upon slips of paper of equal size and of
the same color and appearance, which shall be closely rolled or folded
and placed in a box of sufficient size, to be marked "Petit Jury Box,"
such box being divided into seven compartments, which shall be
numbered to correspond with the delegate subdistricts of the county,
with a sliding top thereon. The names of the persons selected as
aforesaid from the respective delegate subdistricts shall be placed in
the compartments of such box, respectively, which bear the numbers
of the delegate subdistricts where the persons so selected respectively
reside, and after so depositing such ballots, the box shall be closed.
Each of the petit jury panels to serve during that particular term of
court shall then be chosen in the following manner: The judge shall
cause the clerk, or one of his deputies, whom the judge shall designate,
OR THE JURY COMMISSIONER, OR ONE OF HIS ASSISTANTS
(neither the one nor the other who may be so required to act, to be
present at the writing, typing, rolling or folding and depositing of
the slips into the box as herein directed) to appear then and there in
the presence of the judge, the members of the bar as aforesaid, and
such other persons as may choose to be present, after well and thor-
oughly shaking the box so that the ballots in the seven compart-
ments thereof be well mixed, to draw from the box through such
opening made by removing the sliding top thereof as will conveni-
ently admit the hand, and exposing but one of such compartments
at any one time, and without in any manner looking into the box,
one by one, twenty-two of the ballots, and the names appearing on
the ballots so withdrawn shall be duly recorded by the judge or by
the clerk, in the presence of the judge and under his direction, in the
order in which they shall be drawn, and each list so drawn shall
constitute and be a petit jury panel for the term of the court imme-
diately following the drawing. In drawing the twenty-two names
for each list as aforesaid the ballots shall be drawn as follows: Three
names from delegate subdistrict No. 1, four names from delegate
subdistrict No. 2, three names from delegate subdistrict No. 3, three
names from delegate subdistrict No. 4, three names from delegate
subdistrict No. 5, three names from delegate subdistrict No. 6, and
three names from, delegate subdistrict No. 7.

tions of this Code as the grand jury panel is made and certified as
therein provided, immediately thereupon the jury commissioner, or

rolled or folded and placed in a box of sufficient size, to be marked
"Grand Jury Box," such box being divided into seven compartments,
which shall be numbered to correspond with the delegate subdistricts
of the county with a sliding top thereon. The names of the persons
selected as aforesaid from the respective delegate subdistricts shall
be placed in the compartments of such box, respectively, which bear
the numbers of the delegate subdistricts where the persons so se-
lected respectively reside, and after so depositing such ballots, the
box shall be closed. The judge shall then cause the clerk, or one of
his deputies, whom the judge shall designate,
