Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

CHAPTER 634
(House Bill 70)

AN ACT to add a new subsection 2(e) of Section 387 of Article

43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Vol-

ume), title "Health," subtitle "Water, Ice and Sewerage," con-
cerning the construction fund portion of the Sanitary Facilities
Fund and the availability of funds
therefrom for a Maryland
agency's pro rata share of the construction costs of the
Potomac
Interceptor Sower.

AN ACT TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT, WITH AMENDMENTS,
SECTION 5(A) OF CHAPTER 699 OF THE ACTS OF 1967, TO
ADD A PROVISION THAT THE ACTUAL CASH PROCEEDS
FROM THE SALE OF CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS
ISSUED UNDER THAT ACT SHALL BE USED TO PAY 25%
OF THE COST OF THE POTOMAC INTERCEPTOR SEWER,
RECOGNIZING THE FACT THAT 50% OF THAT COST WILL
BE BORNE BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PURSUANT
TO PL 90-84, AND THE REMAINING 25% OF THAT COST
WILL BE BORNE BY THE WASHINGTON SUBURBAN SANI-
TARY COMMISSION.

2. (e) The pro rata portion of the capital costs of the Potomac

Interceptor Sewer which a Maryland agency or authority is required
to pay for connecting with and utilizing the Potomac Interceptor
Sewer, as provided for in the Federal legislation relating to said

sewer (Act of June 12, 1960, as amended by Act of September 11,
1967), is recognized as the equivalent of construction of such portion

of a basic main facility of a sewerage system by such Maryland

agency or authority, and State grants therefor may be made pur-

suant to the provisions of this Section 387(a) 2, as amended from
time to time, or from other State grant funds established in pur-

suance of the objectives of the Federal Water Pollution Control

program.

5(A) THE ACTUAL CASH PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE
OF CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS TO BE ISSUED UN-

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That new Subsection 2(e) be, and it is hereby, added to Section

387B of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Water, Ice and Sewerage," to

follow immediately after Subsection 2(d) of said Section, and to
read as follows:

THAT SECTION 5 (A) OF CHAPTER 699 OF THE ACTS OF
1967 BE, AND IT IS HEREBY, REPEALED AND RE-ENACTED,
WITH AMENDMENTS, TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
