554.

(a) Any person who shall practice or teach beauty culture, or

act in any capacity wherein registration is required, without com-
plying with this subtitle, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon

conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than Ten

Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00).

(b) Any owner or manager of a school of beauty culture COSME-
TOLOGY or beauty shop who shall knowingly enroll as a student or

knowingly employ any person in or about a school or beauty shop

while such person is suffering from a contagious or infectious dis-
ease, or who shall continue the enrollment or employment of such
person after discovery of the same, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,

and, upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not

less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) nor more than Twenty-five Dollars

($25.00).

(c) Any operator, COSMETOLOGIST, manager, teacher, student,
or demonstrator who shall practice the occupation of beauty culture
COSMETOLOGY while knowingly suffering from contagious or

infectious disease or who shall knowingly serve any person afflicted

with such disease, shall knowingly serve any person afflicted

fiction thereof, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00).

(d) Any operator, COSMETOLOGIST, manager, teacher, student,

apprentice or demonstrator, who shall infect any person, or who

shall impart any contagious or infectious disease, by reason of care-
lessness or negligence in a practice of such occupation, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a

fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or to undergo an
imprisonment not exceeding six months or both, in the discretion
of the court.

   Should any section or part of a section of this subtitle be held to

be invalid for any reason, such holding shall not be considered as

affecting the validity of any remaining motion or part of a section
of this subtitle; it being the legislative intent that the remainder
of this subtitle shall stand, notwithstanding the invalidity of such

section or part of a section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
