CHAPTER 590
(Senate Bill 522)

AN ACT to add a new Section 9 (11H) to Article 81 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and 1967
Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be
Taxed and Where," to follow immediately after Section 9 (11G)
thereof, providing a certain tax exemption for farming implements
and livestock in Dorchester County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 9 (11H) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Replacement Volume and
1967 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall
Be Taxed and Where," to follow immediately after Section 9 (11G)
thereof and to read as follows:

9.

(11H) For the purposes of county taxation in Dorchester County
the farming implements and livestock of any bona fide farmer as
now taxed shall over a three-year period beginning July 1, 1968, be
exempt in increasing amounts in equal ratios for each of the three
years until at the end of the three-year period and thereafter such
implements and livestock shall be entirely exempt from assessment
and taxation.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 591
(Senate Bill 548)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 264B
(II) (B) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1967
Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and Punishments," subtitle
"Gaming," to provide that after July 1, 1968, slot machines may
be possessed, AND kept and maintained by the State's Attorneys
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR COUNTY EXECUTIVE of the
several counties in which such machines are situated, in the dis-
cretion of such State's Attorneys, COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OR COUNTY EXECUTIVE, and to provide that such machines
shall be kept, AND possessed and maintained by having them reg-
istered individually with and stored under the supervision of such
State's Attorneys. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR COUNTY
EXECUTIVE PENDING LAWFUL DISPOSAL.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 264B (II) (B) of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1967 Replacement Volume), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," subtitle "Gaming," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
