standard salary scales in effect on January 1, 1967; provided that
the compensation in each respective classification from and after
July 1, 1967, shall be at least ten per centum (10%) greater than
immediately prior thereto. Notwithstanding the provisions of this
subsection the salary applicable to the Supervisor of Assessments
for Anne Arundel County shall be salary scale 13 and the salary
applicable to the Supervisor of Assessments in Allegany, Frederick,
Harford and Washington counties shall be salary scale 12.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

AN ACT to add new Section 6A to Article 51 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume) to be entitled "Mont-
gomery County," and to follow immediately after Section 6 of that
Article; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 9
and 10 (c) and 12 of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title
"Juries," subtitle "Qualification and Selection of Jurors"; to pro-
vide for and establish a jury commissioner system for the selection
of juries for Montgomery County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 6A be and it is hereby added to Article 51 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Juries," subtitle "Qualification and Selection of Jurors," and to
follow immediately after Section 6 thereof, and to read as follows:
6A. Montgomery County
(a) Creation of Office of Jury Commissioner
The office of Commissioner of Jurors is hereby created for Mont-
gomery County. The Commissioner shall select, qualify and draw all
jurors for all courts of record within the county. The Commissioner
shall be an officer of such courts, and shall attend upon each term
for which a jury is drawn.
(b) Appointment and removal; term; vacancies
A majority of the judges of the Circuit Court for Montgomery
County shall designate and. appoint a Jury Commissioner, with such
assistant or assistants as may be necessary. The Commissioner shall
be a resident of the county for at least two years prior to his
appointment, and shall not be engaged in the practice of law, nor
at the time of his appointment be a party to any cause then pending
in the courts of Montgomery County. The Commissioner shall serve
for a term of three years and until his successor is appointed and
qualified; AT THE PLEASURE OF THE COURT; and before
entering upon the discharge of his duties, he shall take an oath of
