Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Section 17 of Article II of the Maryland
Constitution, I have vetoed today House Bill 1017 and am returning
it to you.
The bill would authorize the County Commissioners of Charles
County to issue bonds in the amount of $1,500,000. for the con-
struction of a new Court House. At the request of the County Com-
missioners and the Legislative Delegation from Charles County, who
have decided that the bill is premature, I am vetoing it.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Charles County to borrow upon the faith and credit of said County
an amount not exceeding One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars
($1,500,000), and to issue bonds therefor, for the cost of court house
repairs, alterations and/or additions and providing for the levy of
taxes in Charles County for the payment of principal and interest on
such bonds.
